| Description: This portfolio includes images taken from a series of trips to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nara starting in the early 1980s. I try to emphasise the offbeat and wacky side of Japan, with a strong emphasis throughout on people. The portfolio includes two very recent sets of portraiture images. The first is from a traditional Shinto Wedding at the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo. The second provides an interesting counterpoint - it includes portrait images of non-conformist girls at the nearby Meiji Jingu subway station; they are dressed as punks, goths, gangsters and other outrageous breeds.
